His lips are sealed. And, if you know promoter Bob Arum, that’s a rarity.
But the Top Rank bossman did tell Boxingconfidential.com Tuesday night that there will be news forthcoming regarding his prized prizefighter, Manny Pacquaio, on Wedneday.
So what will the stunning or not so stunning announcement be, Take your pick from the Megamanny menu below:
A) Pacman will be in Vancouver on October 6 to fight Mexican hard man Humberto Soto;
B) Arum and Golden Boy have buried their legal hatchets at the urging of top mediator Judge Daniel Weinstein and, as part of the legal “draw,” Top Rank will send Pacman into another battle with wizened warrior Marco Antonio Barrera. Such a settlement also opens the door to Pacquaio-JM Marquez and Pacquaio-Joan Guzman bouts;
C) In a real longshot, Pacman travels to Macau to fight Japan-based, unbeaten WBA champ Edwin Valero;
D) Arum, Todd duBoef, Richie Rich Schaefer and Oscar De La Hoya are headed for a weekend at Yosemite Park where they will share a rustic cabin with Shelly Finkel and Judd Burstein. There will be a campfire, roasting of marshmallows and an old-fashioned hootenanny led by Oscar singing, “Swing Low, Sweet Limousine, Coming to Carry Me Home.”
